I'm curious to hear if others have experienced this, either with the C6 or other turntables and whether the sound did indeed diminish after the turntable was fully burned in. In my case, I can hear it from 8 feet away, which happens to the distance from my coach to the turntable in the small (11x13ft) room that I use for my music room. I gather it's not a unique problem with my turntable - this review on Amazon mentioned the issue and I actually read that before buying the turntable, but "few feet" suggested to me you'd hear it only right next to the turntable. I'm in the process of following the instructions there - currently a couple hours into the suggested 5 hour unloaded portion. I read an interesting post here Excessive Motor Noise about motor burn-in for new turntables. At least I guess you'd call it mechanical - it's a fairly high-pitched hum. This is not noise polluting the audio output, it is mechanical noise coming straight from the motor. The audio quality is amazing for the money, the reviews did not exaggerate. I only got it yesterday, so it's not burned in yet. :(Īfter reading some very positive reviews I decided to take a gamble and buy a Crosley C6 turntable. Of course, I need to make a decision about returning it, which I don't really want to, considering how good it is for the money, other than the hum. After reading some very positive reviews I decided to take a gamble and buy a Crosley C6 turntable.
